An important function of JASI is to ease the transition into American life for Japanese individuals living in Indiana. The JASI office provides information and referrals on healthcare, education, law, driving, and banking. The bilingual JASI staff is ready to assist members with questions and issues related to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and obtaining a drivers license. Other programs provide oportunity for focus groups and friendship circles. Further, JASI has published the "Indiana Guidebook in Japanese," a 300-page Japanese-language resource book, which is an excellent source of information about tourist attractions, practical living tips, and educational and cultural topics for all regions of Indiana.
