JETRO Chicago and Japan-America Society of Indiana Corporate Seminar
Risk Management: Language Counts When Contracts, Emails,
and Other Documents Become Evidence

Internal documents, reports and emails can be used as powerful evidence against your company during lawsuits involving your products, labor disputes, product recalls, antitrust claims, etc. Unclear agreements with suppliers and customers can create confusion and generate expensive litigation. Your employees should know what to write and what not to write, whether in emails, internal documents or agreements. This seminar will focus on drafting agreements and other documents, such as accident investigations, quality control reports, kaizen reports, and emails to a parent company. A video will show a real-life example to give you a deeper understanding of when and how to use – and when not to use – certain terms or language.
