BON-ODORI FESTIVAL

Sunday, Autust 2nd, 2009
Time: 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Ocean World Restaurant Parking

It’s time once again for the annual Sakura/Ocean World Japanese festival!

For those who are not familiar with this event, it is a traditional Japanese dance festival that takes place every summer here in Indiana.  This year will be our 15th year continuing the tradition, and we would like for you to come and join us!

The dancing will start at 6:30 p.m. and will last until 9:30 p.m.   There will be many traditional festival foods on sale including sushi, yakisoba (stir-fried noodles), yakitori (skewered grilled chicken), takoyaki (fried balls made with batter and octopus), ika (squid) teriyaki, ramune soft drinks (Japanese soda), ice cream, and more!  Although the dancing starts at 6:30 p.m., the food sales will begin at 6:00 p.m.

This type of dance festival is very common in Japan during the summer months.  We encourage people from all different types of cultures and backgrounds to come together and celebrate this joyous occasion, so invite your friends and family and come join us on Aug 2nd!

*Because the area is a parking lot, please exercise caution as there are concrete tire-stops as well as minor pot holes.  Also, please be careful when walking around in the evening because of the minimal lighting and monitor your children for their safety.

**In the event of rain or other extreme weather issues, it is possible that the event may be cancelled.  For any questions or comments please call Ocean World Restaurant at (317) 848-8901.

In partnership with:  Indianapolis Minyo Dancers, Japan-American Society of Indiana, JFC, TWG, Yamasho, One World Market,  Sakura Restaurant, Ocean World Restaurant, and many  individual volunteers!
